A company may implement a strategy which is completely different from its culture, but that would mean that employees would have a tough time following the organizational behavior principles. For example, if a company prides on team work to ensure productivity is sustained, implementing Organizational behavior on the guidelines of Theory X would mean absolutely no sense. Theory X would suppress the whole element of team work and creativity.
- Research on impact on Business Objectives - At the end of the day, every business owner must do well to remember that the company runs if it meets its business objectives. Tools like Organizational behavior can be means to an end. Focusing on Organizational Behavior as a stand-alone unit would mean that the company may lose sight of the business objectives. When a business owner does Organizational Behavior research on various strategies, he would need to keep in mind if the initiatives may negatively impact his business objectives. A smart business owner would never want to implement any strategy in his company if he knows that the strategy is sure to upset the productivity of the company.
The other thing that the business owner would need to consider while doing a research on organizational behavior is that he does not necessarily need to stick to the ones which are subscribed on the list. Remember, research in organizational behavior is extremely subjective and is based on a lot of factors. After all, the business owner does the research because he wishes to implement these initiatives as a part of the company's operating manual.
